With unrelenting perseverance and far reaching vision, his initial ventures into coal trading ad financing blossomed fast. Under his dynamic and principled leadership, the company flourished and what started out as a small venture soon spread to all parts of West Bengal and Bihar. By the end of the 50's the company emerged as one of the few respected and leading coal trading companies in eastern India. 

The late 60's saw the induction of Late Baijnath Agarwala's eldest son, Mr Ram Prasad Agarwala, into the group. Mr Ram Prasad Agarwala, who is now the Chairman of the Group, brought with him the energy and drive of youth, and soon the father - son duo led the group into a phase of expansion. Coal trading business grew and a large number of branch offices were opened along the length and breadth of the country and several new operations and companies were established to accommodate the growing complexity of the operations.
